International Confidence Rises in Albania’s Adriatic Coastline
Albania continues to cement its position as a hotspot for high-end real estate and hospitality investment in Southeast Europe. The latest development comes from Urbacon Trading and Contracting, a leading construction company from the Arab world, which is set to participate in the prestigious Zvërnec South Adriatic Resort project.
Initially associated with Jared Kushner, plans shifted with his focus moving to the nearby Sazan project, paving the way for Urbacon to join as a strategic partner.
Two months ago, KKTU approved the building permit under Zvërnec South Adriatic Development shpk, owned by Universal Properties Projects BV (Netherlands).
Urbacon’s Albanian branch registration confirms commitment to the project, though its exact operational role remains to be clarified.
The project highlights rising luxury development interest along Albania’s Adriatic coastline.
The involvement of Urbacon — founded in Qatar and owned by Moutaz Al-Khayyat — signals strong international investor confidence. Ranked 42nd globally among subcontractors in 2024, with $1.5 billion annual turnover and part of the Poëer International Holding Group, Urbacon brings global expertise from landmark projects including Lusail City artificial islands and the Waldorf Astoria Maldives.
Urbacon’s participation accelerates high-end tourism infrastructure, increases international partnerships, creates job opportunities, and raises construction and hospitality standards in Albania. For investors, developers, and hospitality professionals, the Zvërnec South Adriatic Resort project represents a strategic opportunity and a new benchmark for luxury real estate development in the country.
